Assaray Trade and Investment Bank (ATIB) was originally founded in 1997 under the name of “Al-Ahli Bank of Tripoli”. In 2007, the bank was converted into a Libyan joint-stock company under a new management and became ATIB. The bank offers a variety of financial products and services to its clients consisting of both corporate clients and individuals. Today, ATIB has close to 160 employees and has established a team of young Libyan and foreign professionals to strengthen its talent pool and contribute to the development of the upcoming generation of Libyan leaders. Among its activities, the bank has funded a number of small and medium enterprises in many important and vital sectors in Libya. In 2012, the bank appointed a new Board of Directors & General Manager and signed a partnership with the consulting firm EY to work on a transformation project and develop a new strategy for the bank allowing it to gain a robust client base. In 2014, ATIB has been able to successfully launch several strategic projects including the implementation of a new banking system, the development of a new corporate identity and the enhancement of the work environment and of services provided. ATIB’s objective is to increase the number of branches to 5 branches and is aiming to continue its growth plan through digital, mobile & internet banking. The bank is also a strategic partner and investor with a 10% stake in Tadawul Technology the leading company providing electronic payment solutions in Libya.
