Fair use
- Link every job to its page on jobs.ly (the
urlfield), where visitors can read the application instructions. Some jobs accept applications externally. - Show where the jobs come from, for example “Jobs from jobs.ly”.
- Don't present the jobs as your own, and never ask job seekers for money.
- Stay within 120 requests per minute, and keep answers for at least a minute.
- Use the API and feeds, not the website's pages, to collect jobs.
- We may block addresses that break these rules.
Versions and changes
- Version 1 (
/api/v1) stays stable: we may add new fields, but we won't remove or change existing ones. Ignore fields you don't know. - A change that would break existing uses comes as a new version (
/api/v2), announced here in advance, with the old one kept for a while. - New cities, fields or options may appear: take them from
/api/v1/meta.
Changes
| Date | What changed |
|---|---|
| 2026-10-30 | The feeds read city and category as the API does (a code, or its English or Arabic name, in any letter case) and refuse any other value with 400 invalid_parameter, instead of returning every job. The job-board XML feed now takes partner, member and apply too, as the RSS feed does. |
| 2026-10-27 | Added the apply=jobsly filter (API and RSS): only jobs people apply to on jobs.ly. A partner's list (partner) now holds only its members' jobs; organizations only registered with the partner aren't on it. |
| 2026-10-26 | Added the partner and member filters (API and RSS) and partnerMember on each job they return: a partner's list of its members' jobs (today lbc). |
| 2026-10-26 | The widget's code now has a link inside its box («Our jobs on jobs.ly»), shown when the script doesn't run and used as the line under the jobs when it does. Codes without it work as before. |
| 2026-10-18 | Organizations can choose not to share their jobs with other job sites: those jobs are left out of the feeds, /jobs/{id} and the /jobs lists, except with a company or client filter for that organization (its own careers widget). |
| 2026-10-18 | Added the client filter and meta.client (API), data-jobsly-client (widget) and /embed/client/{key} (frame): a recruitment agency's widget for one client names the client by its key, never by a page address that can move to the organization. data-jobsly-company works as before. |
| 2026-10-16 | A page past the last one (or past page 500) now returns an empty data list with meta.page set to the page asked for, never another page's jobs. Newest first follows the date shown on each job (for a job copied from another site, its original posting date). The job-board XML feed leaves out jobs whose original posting date isn't known. |
| 2026-10-15 | Added since version 1: company.confidential (an undisclosed employer), occupation (ISCO-08), countryCode and locations, hiringFor.nameEn, and salary.formatted; salary keeps the advert's own currency and period, and jobType or postedAt can be null for a job copied from another site. Fixes: the company filter (API, feeds, widget) also returns the jobs a recruitment agency posts for that organization under its name, as its page does; a company value that isn't a page address now gets 400 invalid_parameter (feeds: no jobs) instead of every job; minSalary above 100,000 is read as 100,000 instead of being ignored; every error has error and message. |
| 2026-09 | Version 1: the Jobs API (/jobs, /jobs/{id}, /meta, openapi.json), RSS and job-board XML feeds, and the careers widget. |
