Internal Auditor

Provide independent assurance to the Board on governance, risk management and financial, operational and compliance controls.

Work pattern

40 hours per week; five eight-hour days, Sunday–Thursday, 08:00–16:00.

Responsibilities

• Prepare an annual audit plan based on financial, operational and compliance risks, and submit it to the Board or Audit Committee.

• Conduct financial, operational, compliance and IT-control audits, using specialist support where needed.

• Test transactions, approvals and internal controls, and retain clear evidence supporting audit findings.

• Review cash handling, procurement, payroll, revenue collection and asset controls.

• Audit recruitment and selection records, including assessments, approvals and candidate-data controls.

• Assess whether management maintains effective risk registers, mitigation plans and business-continuity controls.

• Evaluate governance, delegated authorities, conflicts of interest and fraud-prevention controls.

• Report findings, their significance and recommended actions to management and the Board or Audit Committee.

• Track corrective actions, verify closure and escalate overdue or unresolved high-risk findings.

• Coordinate with external auditors and maintain confidential, accessible audit records.

• Advise on control improvements while remaining independent of management decisions and the activities being audited.

Requirements

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance, business or audit, or equivalent audit experience.

• At least 5 years in internal audit or internal controls, including audit reporting.

• Strong written Arabic and English; Excel and audit reporting skills.

• Relevant audit professional qualification.

• Airport, infrastructure or regulated-business experience.
