Airport Maintenance Technician

Carry out planned and corrective maintenance within an assigned technical trade.

Work pattern

10 shift vacancies: 48 hours per week across six eight-hour days, with a rotating rest day. Shifts: 06:00–14:00, 14:00–22:00 and 22:00–06:00. Relief staff cover breaks and handovers. 4 daytime vacancies: 40 hours per week, Sunday–Thursday, 08:00–16:00.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment assigned to the technician’s trade.

• Diagnose faults and perform authorised repairs using approved methods and equipment.

• Follow work permits, safe-isolation procedures and personal-protection requirements before starting work.

• Respond to urgent technical faults and support safe first response during operational disruptions.

• Escalate faults that require specialist expertise, additional authorisation or replacement equipment.

• Test equipment after maintenance, record results and obtain approval for return to service.

• Complete work orders and record defects, repairs, spare parts and outstanding actions.

• Inspect tools and test equipment, and report damage, calibration needs or shortages.

• Monitor stock used during maintenance and notify supervisors of critical-spares requirements.

• Support contractors and commissioning work within assigned competence and safety procedures.

• Provide clear technical handovers and identify unresolved faults affecting the next shift.

Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification or proven trade skills; any mandatory trade licence must be held.

• At least 2 years in relevant maintenance work; practical trade skills will be assessed.

• Arabic and technical English for maintenance manuals; practical skills in the relevant maintenance trade.

• Complete required airport training, assessments and access approvals before working independently.

• For shift vacancies, availability for rotating eight-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.
