A message to one applicant or more

  • Press “Message” beside WhatsApp and call on the applicant's card and in “Top picks”, or select several applicants and press “Email”.
  • Each applicant gets a conversation in “Messages” and a notice by email or on their device, and their card links to the conversation.
  • The applicant can answer you, and write one first message if you haven't written yet.
  • The account owner and recruiters write in conversations; hiring managers don't see them.

Message limits

  • Your organization can send a limited number of messages from the job page each day; a message to several applicants counts once.
  • Until your organization is verified, messages can't contain links or phone numbers.
  • A message asking applicants for money can't be sent.
  • Writing stops if the applicant stops the conversation or withdraws, and some time after the application or the job ends.

Saved messages

In “Organization settings”, open “Saved messages”. You start with ready messages for each step that you can edit. “When is it used?” sets each message's step, so the ones “Suggested for this step” come first when you write to an applicant. Insert fill-ins such as {name}, {job} and {interview time} to have them filled for each person when it's sent.

When jobs.ly adds new ready messages, “Add the new ready messages” appears: it adds only the missing ones and leaves the ones you edited as they are.

jobs.ly's automatic messages, with your words

jobs.ly sends the applicant a message at each important step. In “jobs.ly's automatic messages” you see what the applicant gets at each step, and you can add a short word from your team to the shortlisted, offer, hired and not selected messages. Your words show inside jobs.ly's message under “A word from the hiring team:” and are checked like any message. jobs.ly's own text can't be changed.

The “Not selected” message may also carry a tip from jobs.ly: the job's skills the applicant's CV doesn't show, if any.

Team comments

To discuss an applicant inside your team, write in “Team comments” on the job page or the applicant's page, and mention a colleague so they're told. The applicant never sees these comments.
